About Russ: Russ Thurow is an Emeritus Fisheries Scientist with the US Forest Service- Rocky Mountain Research Station. He has fisheries degrees from the Univ. of Wisconsin- Stevens Point and the Univ. of Idaho.
For more than 40 years, he has been investigating wild, Snake River basin salmon and steelhead. He received the Idaho Chapter AFS Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2020 Leopold Conservation Award from Fly Fishers International.
Russ is intimately familiar with Central Idaho’s Middle Fork Salmon River basin and its remarkable aquatic resources.
