Wallowa Lake Information:
Wallowa Lake is a glacial lake in the Wallowa Mountains of northeastern Oregon at an elevation of 4,372 feet (1,333 m). The lake is 3.48 miles (5.6 km) long and 2.347 square miles (6.07 km²) in area. The lake is 2.347 square miles, has a maximum depth of 100 feet, and is fed by the Wallowa Mountains and drained into the Wallowa River.
A series of Pleistocene glaciers formed the lake. It is impounded by high moraines, which create a ribbon-like shape. Forests and mountains surround the lake, and the scenery is stunning.
Wallowa Lake is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There are several campgrounds and resorts located around the lake. It is a popular destination for recreation, including fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and camping. The lake is also home to various wildlife, including deer, elk, bears, and eagles.
